Progression of WS (WorkSimple) 1.0.2, codenamed 'Biomass' has been going good. I have fixed the Theme changer, allowing each theme to have its own directory.
Some of the code for the control panel has also been re-written. An admin nav bar is in the works.
Also in advancement is the install; which has also been semi re-written.
Another big development [next] will be a modules API, allowing anyone to create modules for WS.
Icons and custom templating will be available soon, as well as the ability to change blog title, tagline etc... Favicon support too.
WorkSimple 1.0.1 has just been released!
You can download it here: http://2500mhz.info/node/25
New things:
-New Control panel
-Able to change themes _within_ the control panel
-Updated installer
-Minor blog fixes
-Minor bug fixes
-New themes included
Did anyone notice the little link on the bracket in FreeNAS(version 0.69b2)?
I got curious and looked at the HTML source:
FreeNAS © 2005-2008 by Olivier Cochard-Labbe. All rights reserved.  [View license]
See? The little bracket ([) is a link to www.tibet.com. Perhaps the author(s) feel the need to support human rights...Seemed kinda strange to me, anywho....
I've been working on WorkSimple for the last couple hours, I got the admin control panel mostly figured out. I've even added tabs for writing a post and changing themes (which is possible now without edit a file :D ! ). I still have quite far to go still. Anywho, I need some of my 'energy coffee' then I'll get back to work/having fun.
I just got from camping all weekend, so (after I get my paycheck money, which should be soon) I'm gonna head down to Staples and buy
16GB flash drive (I have a 8gb)
1TB MyBook
A UPS of some sort
D-Link DIR-655 router
and some more stuff (That is, if I actually have money)
I'll post back later after my findings....
EDIT: Wait nevermind, even though I'm off work, I get my money THURSDAY! That means I have to wait 4 MORE DAYS!
Edit: I just released WorkSimple beta 2 here http://geekness.eu/node/22
I still haven't set on a data structure yet. I have code to:
1. Have one master file (almost a database) and store all of the posts
or 2.Have seperate files (according named 1.txt, 2.txt etc....)
I would think that one file (1) would be the easiest to manage too. I'll wrap this version of WS up and upload it.
Just installed Ubuntu Eee 8.04 on my 701 4GB Eee. Simply amazing. Oh wait a sec, I had a whole buncha pictures that I forgot to back up....oh well. Ubuntu on the go, just awesome.
More to come
I just released WS Beta 1 (named Charcoal) available here: http://2500mhz.info/node/22
There is also a how-to install tutorial and a tips page too.
I shall be working on WS Beta 2 (Or at least a stable release) tonight so check back later on....
...d monitors. Whipped down to Staples and picked up another 19" widescreen monitor, so now that makes three (3) 19" widescreen (LCD) monitors and one (1) 19" CRT (All on one computer = quad monitors). The new one is a HP w1907 with VGA and DVI, and surprisingly it has speakers (which I didn't find out till I got home). More to come.....
