10 ways to promote your blog

Here's a list comprised of the tools and techniques I used to promote this and other sites:

1. Twitter

Millions of people use Twitter, why don't you?

2. Forums

Target your niche of blog or site by joining the appropriate forum and post links in your signature.

3. Directories

Submit your site/blog to a link directory.

4. BlogCatalog
Connect with other bloggers and promote your blog.

5. Comments
Post comments on other peoples blog; chances are they'll post comments on yours.

6. Backlinks
Trade links with other webmasters/bloggers.
7. Dofollow

New content!

My blog is quite...boring. Monotone. Uninteresting. You name it. So, the next couple blog posts are gonna be 'helpful' you could say. Tutorials (PHP, GIMP, Linux skills, etc..), news, hacks and so on.

Just got back from a nice tiring bike ride. Only -2C out side, so it wasn't too bad. Anyway, I think I'm gonna go work on my Twitter-clone, or sleep. Sleeping sounds better.

Geekness.eu!

'Twas bored the other day and made a little Twitter like script. Uses a flat file DB of course, but instead of adding a new post it updates it from the old one. I'll FTP that later on.

Yes, yes I bought a new domain, www.geekness.eu. I think its very...self descriptive :D I'm looking for a new favicon, so post a comment if you have any suggestions.

I've been using Opera more and more lately, I guess for something different. Chrome is...meh, alright. The JS performace is amazing. Not sure what draws me to Opera, but I like. I'm even using Firefox less.

I'm off to go watch some Invader Zim, I'll end up coding in a couple of hours for some reason....

The torrent version of ImageShack

The concept came to me the other day. What about a torrent version of ImageShack, the popular image uploading site?
The base of the script (which I named TSquare, TBox is already taken (torrentbox.com)) is completed. It's mainly bound off of Torrentino but is more streamlined for performance issues. There are a couple of design issues (as I just switched to XHTML Strict too).

Anyway, long story short, I'll release the public version of it right now as it's still heavily under development.

WorkSimple 1.3.0 Solar - Beta Release

WorkSimple 1.3.0 BETA has been released though I must warn, it is a beta and is not made for production enviroments. Use the last stable release, 1.2.2b. Anyways, if you must get your hands on the new WorkSimple, download below:

http://2500mhz.info/sites/default/files/1.3.0beta.zip

The major feature in this release is the completely new theme system. Numerous features has not been implemented and/or finished. Release early, release often.

New domain

I was thinking about getting a new domain, preferably something...unique. I was thinking about getting www.leetness.eu but...meh. easton.gl would be cool to get, but I don't exactly have $129 to shell out. 2500mhz.info will expire in about 40 days and I felt like having something different. Comments are appreciated :)

WorkSimple 1.2.2a Bug

A bug has been discovered in WorkSimple 1.2.2a where $lang isn't being defined so no text displays. For users that are using 1.2.2a, add this to your /data/conf.php file:

$lang = "langs/en.lang.php";

WorkSimple 1.2.2b will be released soon, fixing this bug and improving the all together code.
